Puccini and His Contemporaries:
A Cabaret of Opera and Theatre

Conceived of and written by Karyn Levitt

Quando men vo,
quando men vo soletta per la via
la gente sosta e mira...
e la bellezza mia tutta ricerca in me,
ricerca in me da capo a piè!

Puccini and His Contemporaries: A Cabaret of Opera and Theatre
is a concert-theatre piece of arias and songs by Puccini, letters from Puccini to his librettists, monologues from Chekhov plays, poetry by Eugenio Montale (in Italian and English), opera reviews, and songs by Respighi, Tosti, Verdi, Satie, and others. The inclusion of dramatic texts, props, blocking, costume changes, and theatre lighting make for a unique and unforgettable experience of classical music and theatre. Running time: 60 minutes.
